Higher-order transformations for the generation of synchronization infrastructures in blended modeling

Introduction Blended modeling aims at boosting the development of complex multi-domain systems by enabling seamless multi-notation modeling. The synchronization mechanisms between notations are embodied in model transformations. Manually defining transformations requires specific knowledge transformation languages, and it is a time-consuming error-prone task. Moreover, whenever any synchronized languages or evolves, those become obsolete. Methods In this paper, we propose an automated solution for generating industrial setting. Results approach entails i) specification mapping rules two arbitrary domain-specific leveraging language, appositely defined purpose, ii) automatic generation driven rules. Discussion We validated proposed use cases. Although our main goal was to provide graphical textual UML-RT state machines, language- notation-agnostic.
